Kimba was my first own Ridgeback and was born on June 14th, 2006.
We both met for the first time when she was almost 9 months old and looking for a new home. For both of us it was love at first sight…..this love lasted for 14.5 years, as Kimba was allowed to reach the wonderful age of 15 years and 4 months. It was also love when we had to make the decision to let her go on 10-11-2021 at our home in the middle of the pack. So she was allowed to go as she had lived….with pride and dignity.
Kimba was a very special Ridgeback lady for me and for many who knew her. Very original, with many rough edges, which presented me with great challenges in the early days and some of which also belonged to her throughout her life. She was a proud dog with an unbelievable charisma and especially in her later years she was a real support for my soul. We both had a very intimate connection without words, she always knew how I was doing and I felt in good hands with her. She has a firm place in my heart and we often talk about her.
